BOPS Forest School

We are extremely proud to be able to offer all children the experience of learning, development and play in our bespoke forest school environment. Much thought and planning went into our forest school and it has only been made possible with the support of the local community.

Why Forest School?

Forest School offers children an excellent opportnity to learn, build confidence, self esteem to explore risk. It also offers a unique space to learn about the natural environment whilst developing new skills, having fun and exploring. Our Forest School follows the six principles of official Forest School education and one of those is;

‘to promote the holistic development of all those involved fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners’

Children all learn in different ways and to provide an opportunity for the children to learn about the outside environment and take part in supervised activities throughout the seasons is a wonderful way to learn. The space completely fenced and secure with a strong gate. Children have the freedom to move around within a free play environment but are also part of adult directed or adult supported activities to build on children’s knowledge and experience.

Typical activities offered in Forest School are;

  • Playing and having fun exploring the woods

  • Mud kitchen*
